Irish Name: Buachalán buí
Family: Asteraceae
Habitat: Grassland, roadside verges
Uses: This plant contains alkaloid poisons which could cause liver damage in cattle and horses, which is the reason for its inclusion on the Noxious Weeds listing.  It was used as one of the ingredients of a poultice in some parts of the country.
