Ballinacree Churches

The current Ballinacree Church blessing took place on St. Patrick’s day 1960.

The old Ballinacree Church was built in 1825 by Fr Brady and demolished in 1959.

Prior to this the place of worship was in the townland of Ballinrink.  This church was built when the penal laws were relaxed.

  1. Searching for burial information on Michael Brown (1831 – 13 Nov 1889) and his wife Elizabeth (Bessie) Devin Brown (1844 – Dec 1910). They lived in the Ballinrink area. I know that a couple of granduncles, Peter and Henry, lived on a farm in Oldcastle, as my grandmother stayed with them in 1911.

    I thought it might be the St Brigid and St Fiach Ballinacree Graveyard but no markers are present.
