Uses: Purple loosestrife negatively affects both wildlife and agriculture by reducing the habitat.

Purple loosestrife is sometimes applied directly to the affected area for varicose veins, bleeding gums, hemorrhoids, and eczema, but there is no good scientific evidence to support these uses.
