Remembering St Oliver Plunkett
The year 2025 was the 400th anniversary of the birth of St Oliver Plunkett – a local man. In general, the story of his heroic life is little known. Many events were organized in Meath, Louth, Armagh and elsewhere to commemorate his life and place in Irish history. In November 2025 Ballinacree Historical Society held an informative Sunday afternoon to reflect on the life of the saint. The following articles are summaries of the presentations made that day.
Part One: The Family and Lands of the Plunkett’s
Part Two: Some Notes on the Life of Oliver Plunkett
Part 3: The Trial of Oliver Plunkett
